Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do. People join us for a variety of reasons; to learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, fill in time after retirement, help the environment, work experience, make new friends...
We have people from 16-90 years old volunteering with us. Whether you are newly arrived in the UK, living in the inner city or descended from many generations of rural Britain you are welcome!
We meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am. Finish times are flexible; most finish around 1pm, but in good weather we may have a picnic together and then carry on until 3pm.
Sessions are lead by an experienced member of the team who can keep you safe and teach new skills such as pruning, tree planting, harvesting and grading fruit.
We run various fun events through the year such as Open Farm Sunday, Apple Day and Christmas Fairs. We need a team of people to organise and help run these events. If this is something you would enjoy, please get in touch!
We are often on the look-out for volunteers with special skills e.g. marketing, photography, book-keeping, business management to help us grow into a sustainable organisation that can make even more of the wonderful facilities that we have access to.
If this is something that you would like to offer, please get in touch via info@farmeco.co.uk
I love coming to FarmEco for many reasons. I meet friendly, interesting and inspiring people; I get great exercise in the fresh air; I feel I am doing some good, so it helps give my life meaning and purpose. And I get muddy.

Being outdoors just gives you a sense of peace and of community. You meet other people who have had mental health issues and it just brings it all out into the open. So instead of carrying this weight around yourself, you're really sharing and you're sharing your own experiences of what works for you as well, which is another brilliant aspect.
