Plant Magic is a self-contained allotment-style area of Home Farm, devoted to discovering and promoting the physical and mental benefits of gardening. Suitable for all ages and abilities, Plant Magic provides a safe haven to have a go at growing fruit, vegetables and flowers. It also provides schools and colleges with opportunities to understand the origins of the food we eat.
Plant Magic can provide tailor-made therapeutic or educational sessions for adults and children alike, to learn about the joys of the great British countryside.
Qualified in Animal Assisted Therapies and with five years’ experience running her own business in this field, Ceri Anne also runs Animal Magic from the farm.
Highly socialised animals are available to use for therapeutic interventions and educational visits, including orphan lambs and goat kids as well as hand-reared chickens.
Sessions with the animals can be tailor-made according to needs, but typical activities include accommodation maintenance, feeding & nutrition, health checks as well as simply engaging with the animals on a social level. Animal Magic can accommodate both individuals and group visits.
Sessions are every Friday morning 10.30am until 12noon.
